Things you may need:
1) Small Tank: new small tank or small container not exceeding 15cm x 15cm (no soap used)
2a) Distilled Water: water with no minerals, meaning the nutritional facts behind the bottle states that all vitamin
and minerals are at 0
2b) We heard from someone that they tried tap water(Singapore) to hatch Triops and they worked well. We tried it ourselves and found out that it actually work, there is no guarantee that Triops hatched in Tap Water will live as long as the ones hatched in Distilled Water, what we know is that they hatch just as well in Tap water, try them at your own risk.
3) Pellet Food: food for turtles or shrimp(sinking ones are best)
4) Submergible Themometer
5) Small Plastic Spoon : as small as possible
6) Lamp/Fluorescent Light
7) Turkey Baster/Pipette : Optional
Step by Step
1) open distilled water, put it aside and wait 1 hour
2) wash small tank/container with just water no soap
3) pour water into tank/container until it is 2/3 full
4) let it sit for 15 mins
5) put eggs and sand in tank/container (use half pack if you are unsure)
6) stir the eggs with plastic spoon in circular motion
7) place the tank/container under light for 2 days
8) monitor temperature between 24 to 28 degrees celsius (24 is best for hatching)
9) wait until they hatch
10) prepare bigger tank, add in distilled water
Once hatched, DO NOT FEED for 3 days.
After 3 days, feed only a pinch of Baby Triops Food about this size --> o <-- or less.
Feed only once per day.
If water evaporated, add in only 1/4 distilled water a day, do not pour directly on baby triops they get whirlpooled easily.
After 6 days, move 1 triop into bigger tank, see if it survives next day, if it survives put the rest of triops into big tank.
Start feeding full uncrushed pellet, 1 a day, wait 2 hours, if unfinished, remove it.
If they finish it, increase intake.
On day 9, feed twice a day.
If you have Turkey Baster/Pipette, use it to suck the waste out.
If not, remove 1/4 water, add 1/4 tap water PER DAY, if you are afraid it will not survive, use distilled water but 90% it will live through.
Facts
1) Number 1 cause of death for triops = Overfeeding
2) Number 2 cause of death for triops = Not feeding daily
Have fun!
