So you are interested in raising your very own Triops. Be sure to read this before getting one it may just be helpful.
Things to consider before you decide on getting Triops
1) Is your area's weather/season suitable for the species you are getting? Triops in the early stages are unable to handle extreme temperature change! Make sure you ask the seller what temperature is the species suppose to live in.
2) Do you have the things needed to raise triops? Sure it only cost S$20 or less to get every single thing you need for triops ranging from tank to food, be sure to have everything needed before you start hatching, it might just be too late to wait till these little things hatch to get the items ready. 3) Can you feed them daily? Triops are fed 2-3 times when they are 5-6 days old, if you are going to be traveling or outside for more than 2 days we would recommend to place a moss inside the tank for them to chew on. It increases the chance for survival but its not guaranteed!
4) Does your family members know this? We have countless cases saying their family thought that they are just containers with water and throw them away without asking. Some even thought these are mosquito larvae. Make sure your family knows this!
